Briefing Paper Annotated Bibliography Grading Rubric Student: Criteria Novice Competent Proficient Formatting, Spelling, and Grammar 0–5 points Evidence of refusal or inability to meet minimum standards of graduate-level work. 6–7 points Acceptable work in most areas. Demonstrates minor deficiencies in some areas regarding writing style, current Turabian formatting, grammar, and spelling. 8–10 points Superior work in all areas. Consistently exceeds minimal expectations in all areas regarding writing style, current Turabian formatting, grammar, and spelling. Bibliographic Information 0–5 points More than 3 errors Does not show concern with following the bibliographic guidelines of current Turabian style. 6–7 points One to two Turabian errors in the bibliographic information. 8–10 points No errors. Bibliographic information is fully consistent with current Turabian guidelines. Annotation 0–25 points Article annotations are either non-existent or unacceptable in their depth or breadth. 26–27 points Article annotations lack depth of summary and/or reflection. Needs to “dig deeper” in the analysis and evaluation of the material. The author’s credibility is not clear. 28–30 points Each resource is fully summarized. Summary shows consistent understanding of the resources’ main points and a reflection on the importance of these main points for the Final Briefing Paper. The author’s credibility is expounded upon.
